Team Chitwood operates premier Gracie Brazilian jiu-jitsu academies in Mansfield / Lexington, North Columbus / Lewis Center, and Marion in central Ohio. The family-run business is led by champion martial artists, Shawn, Neil and Craig Chitwood. Together, the brothers bring winning techniques and effective teaching methods to their popular kids, teens and adults classes. Team Chitwood also provides specialized self-defense, bully defense (kids), combat jujitsu, team building, defensive tactics, and active shooter instruction to law enforcement, hospitals, corporations, and schools.
Certified School with Direct Ties to the Gracie Family
As a certified Relson Gracie Academy, Team Chitwood maintains a close relationship to the Gracie family. Shawn Chitwood’s training under Grandmaster Relson Gracie began more than 20 years ago in 1993 – before the first UFC and before they were a household name. Shawn was one of the first American Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belts, and is also one of the few Americans honored to teach in Brazil.
